Not Everyone Should Start a Business (And That’s OK)

Not Everyone Should Start a Business (And That’s OK)

The online world loves one message:

“Just start a business.”

Let’s add some much-needed nuance.

Entrepreneurship Is Not Automatically Freedom

Running a business requires:

  • tolerance for uncertainty

  • comfort with visibility

  • self-direction without external structure

  • energy for sales and marketing

For some people, this is energising. For others, it is quietly exhausting. Neither is wrong. I think it’s important to recognise the difference between the online perception of things and how that’s different from the actual reality. Being self-employed has both it’s benefits and it’s pitfalls. For me, I love the flexibility which works well for me and my family. However, it does also mean I wear a lot of hats. Marketing, PR, admin, finances, as well as my delivery of coaching sessions and masterclasses.

Career Change Has Multiple Paths

Your next chapter could be:

  • a different employed role

  • contract or consultancy work

  • a portfolio career

  • a phased transition into business

The goal isn’t entrepreneurship. The goal is alignment with your life and nervous system.

Fit Matters More Than Hype

On the 25th June, I’m running a masterclass designed to shift the way you think about career change.

If you’re waiting to feel confident before making a move, you might be waiting a long time.

This masterclass will help you focus on what really matters — gathering real evidence of your skills, experience, and value — so you can move forward with clarity, not self-doubt.
